Lifelong Learning

Evolving With Advances in the Field

How much has changed in PM&R since you finished your residency? For physiatrists, it depends on how long it’s been since graduation.

Lifelong Learning focuses on helping you bridge the gap between residency knowledge and what you need to know to provide the highest quality care in your practice today. With a combination of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Self-Assessment (SA) credits, Lifelong Learning helps keep you on track and learning throughout your career.

Lifelong Learning: Two Parts

The Lifelong Learning requirement of ABPMR CC comprises two parts: Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Self-Assessment CME.

Complete and post an average of 30 Category 1 CME Credits per year of certification. At least 50% of these credits should be related to the practice of physical medicine and rehabilitation (for PM&R certificates) or to your subspecialty area (for subspecialty certificates).
