ABMS Directory Tool Update

Diplomates searching for continuing medical education activities will find a newly designed and updated online tool at the American Board of Medical Specialties website. ABMS launched their redesigned Continuing Certification Directoryâ„¢ in January. The new site helps diplomates find quality continuing medical education (CME) activities approved for maintaining certification by one or more ABMS Member Boards, including the ABPMR, with many options to narrow their target search.

Filters allow users to search the database and customize the kind of education they are looking for by variables such as activity type, specific board, and competency desired.

The new Directory's updated search and navigation capabilities improves the user experience for diplomates as well as offers CME providers access to additional continuing certification information and resources. The process for CME providers to submit accredited CME activities for review by the participating Member Boards is quick and easy.

The Directory indexes 600-plus activities from more than 60 CME providers nationwide. Activities in this online repository reflect the latest best practices, evidence-based guidelines, and educational initiatives designed to support the development of competent physicians. Indexed activities award credit from one or more of the following CME credit systems: AMA PRA Category 1 Creditâ„¢, AAFP Prescribed Credit, ACOG Cognates, and or AOA Category 1-A.
