2022 End-of-Year Reminders

The end of 2022 will be here soon! Here are details to keep in mind as the year comes to a close, including certification requirements, LA-PM&R enrollment, reporting certification activities, and ABPMR holiday hours.

Completing your certification requirements:

To check your certification requirements for the year, sign in to your ABPMR.org account for a quick snapshot of your progress and outstanding requirements, including:

Certificate expirations in 2022:

We encourage you to complete any remaining certification requirements for 2022 as soon as possible. You can see your progress and requirements due on your Certification Dashboard.

We won’t be changing any certification statuses right away at the end of 2022. This gives us time to check all of your submissions, as well as allowing specialty societies time to transmit your data to us. Your certification status won’t change until we’ve had a chance to account for everything; if there are any issues with what you’ve submitted, we’ll be in touch shortly after the new year.

LA-PM&R:

All 2022 questions for LA-PM&R are due by December 31, 2022, at 11:59 pm EST. Sign in to your LA-PM&R dashboard to see your current progress and answer any remaining questions.

All diplomates are encouraged to enroll in LA-PM&R in 2023, but how it fits into your requirements depends on when you were last certified. Take a look at the information on our LA-PM&R page, especially the 'What About Me?' tool to view your requirements and options.

How to enroll:

  1. Sign in to your ABPMR.org account
  2. Ensure all past and current annual fees are up-to-date, including 2022 (Need to make a payment? Go to the Online Payment Center)
  3. From the Welcome Back dropdown menu, select Assessment Dashboard
  4. Select Longitudinal Assessment
  5. Scroll down and click the ‘Apply’ button for Longitudinal Assessment for PM&R 2023
  6. Complete the steps to enroll

Enroll in LA-PM&R 2023 by December 31, 2022; enrolling on January 1, 2023, or later will result in a $100 late fee. Before starting participation in 2023, read this informative article for everything to know about LA-PM&R 2023.

Please reach out to the board office with any questions about enrolling in LA-PM&R.

Office holiday hours:

The ABPMR office will be closed for Thanksgiving on November 24-25 and will re-open on November 28. For December holidays, the ABPMR office will be closed from December 24 through December 31. We’ll be back in the office on January 3, 2023.

Working on your certification requirements during holiday office closures:

Submitting CME or a QI Project:

While the office is closed, you can still complete your requirements and self-report CME, pay annual program fees online, or submit a QI project through Submittable. You can even complete activities through specialty societies and that data will be sent to us when we return to the office.

Find CME options here and self-assessment options here.

Self-reporting activities:

The organizations below share data with the ABPMR which will be logged when we return to the office. You do NOT need to self-report any activities completed through:

  • AAPM&R

  • AANEM

  • AAP

  • FluoroSafety

For CME credits granted by any other organization, please self-report these CME credits via your ABPMR account. (Visit the ABPMR CME page for instructions on self-reporting.)

Mailing a check or submitting payment while the office is closed:

All payments will be entered into the system when we receive the mail on January 3.

Trouble signing in to your ABPMR account:

Try resetting your password using the link available on the sign in page; if you continue to have trouble, resetting your password from your home network (rather than your institution’s) sometimes helps.

Check your ABPMR contact information:

Sign into your ABPMR.org account, then click "User Profile" in the "Welcome Back" dropdown menu. Please confirm your phone number and email on file are up-to-date, and click "Edit" under Physician Information to make any changes. This will ensure all ABPMR communications reach you.

If you have more questions:

Please leave us a voicemail or email during the holiday closures. We will get back to you as soon as possible when we return.

We hope you have a safe and healthy holiday season celebrating with loved ones!
