New IHHC Opportunity: Earn IHHC Credit for DNV Accreditation Work

The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) is pleased to introduce a new Improving Health and Health Care (IHHC) credit opportunity for diplomates involved in Det Norske Veritas (DNV) accreditation efforts.

Diplomates who held hospital leadership roles during the period of DNV accreditation or reaccreditation activities may now qualify for IHHC credit. This credit will be applied to the Continuing Certification (CC) cycle in which the accreditation was achieved. To receive credit, diplomates must submit an attestation form along with relevant accreditation documentation.

DNV provides accreditation and certification for healthcare organizations, including hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs), to evaluate their adherence to high standards of patient safety and quality of care.

This initiative reflects ABPMR’s ongoing commitment to reducing the burden of CC requirements by expanding IHHC credit opportunities that recognize diplomates’ contributions to quality improvement.
