2025 End-of-Year-Reminders

As we approach the end of 2025, it’s important to be aware of specific dates and deadlines concerning your ongoing certification requirements.

Office holiday hours:

The ABPMR office will be closed for the holidays from December 22 through December 26. The office will be open December 30 and 31 and will be closed on January 1, 2026.

Completing Your 2025 Longitudinal Assessment Requirements

All 2025 questions for LA-PM&R must be completed by December 31, 2025, at 11:59 pm CST.

Sign in to your LA-PM&R dashboard to see your current progress and answer any remaining questions.

Registering for 2026 Longitudinal Assessment for LA-PM&R/LA-BIM/LA-PRM/LA-SCIM:

As a reminder, all active ABPMR Diplomates are required to enroll in LA-PM&R annually (beginning January 2, 2026) as part of Continuing Certification (CC) requirements. In addition to LA-PM&R, any diplomates certified in the following subspecialties also need to enroll in LA by February 28, 2026, to avoid a late fee:

Brain Injury Medicine (BIM)

Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM)

Spinal Cord Injury Medicine (SCIM)

Enrolling in LA is easy!

To complete your LA enrollment:

  1. Sign into your ABPMR online account
  2. Hover over “Welcome Back Dr…” at the top right of the page
  3. Select Assessment Dashboard from the drop-down menu
  4. Click on the Longitudinal Assessment
  5. Click on Complete Application located next to the appropriate Longitudinal Assessment platform
  6. Follow the instructions under “Steps” – Complete agreements, Application Info, and Fee Payment

The ABPMR will notify you of successful enrollment after reviewing your information, and we will follow up with reminders to log into the platform and begin participating. Quarter 1 questions are expected to be released mid-January for all longitudinal assessments. Please reach out to the board office with any questions about enrolling in LA-PM&R.

To get started with the new ABPMR LA platform, you can watch this brief video tutorial that provides step-by-step instructions on how to log on and navigate your way through the whole platform.

Working on your certification requirements during holiday office closures:

Submitting CME or a QI Project:

While the office is closed, you can still complete your requirements and self-report CME, pay annual program fees online, and submit a QI project through Submittable. You can even complete activities through specialty societies and that data will be sent to us when we return to the office.

Please note that in 2025, LA-PM&R began including the opportunity to earn Improving Health and Healthcare (IHHC) credit by selecting IHHC-designated articles during the customization phase of LA-PM&R at the start of each year. Please refer to our website here for more information.

If you are starting a new LA-PM&R cycle in 2026 and wish to pursue this credit, please remember to select an IHHC-designated article for each year of participation. Four completed IHHC articles (answer associated questions for the article--one per year) are required to earn IHHC credit in year five. Credit can be earned once every other CC cycle.

Find CME options here and self-assessment options here.

Self-reporting activities:

Please read about our exciting new collaboration with the ACCME! As we transition to this new process and recognize the year-end reporting pressures, we will continue to support manual submission of select CME activities. At the same time, we will maintain established data exchanges with organizations such as AAP, AAPM&R, and AANEM until the ACCME workflow is fully implemented.

For CME credits granted by any other organization, please self-report these CME credits via your ABPMR account. (Visit the ABPMR CME page for instructions on self-reporting.)

Recertification

For diplomates who have completed all requirements for the current cycle ending 12/31/2025, recertification dates will be updated on the website on January 2, 2026.

Updated verification of certification letters detailing the recertification can be requested on or after January 2, 2026.

Mailing a check or submitting payment while the office is closed:

Payments will be entered into the system beginning January 2, 2026 when we return to the office.

Trouble signing in to your ABPMR account:

Try resetting your password using the link available on the sign in page; if you continue to have trouble, resetting your password from your home network (rather than your institution’s) sometimes helps.

Check your ABPMR contact information:

Sign into your ABPMR.org account, then click "User Profile" in the "Welcome Back" dropdown menu. Please confirm your phone number and email on file are up-to-date, and click "Edit" under Physician Information to make any changes. This will ensure all ABPMR communications reach you.

If you have more questions:

During our holiday closures, please feel free to leave us a voicemail or send us an email. We will respond as soon as we are back.

May your holidays be warm, joyful, and surrounded by loved ones. Happy holidays and a prosperous New Year from all of us at ABPMR!
