End-of-Year FAQ

Is keeping your ABPMR certification current part of your end-of-year to-do list? If so, we’re here to help. Here are the questions we hear the most.

Q: How can I tell what I have to do before the end of the year?

To check your maintenance of certification (MOC) status for the year, we recommend logging into your MOC Homepage for a quick snapshot of your progress and outstanding requirements, including:

  • License verification
  • CME and self-assessment credits
  • Practice improvement project
  • Annual fees

If you need ideas for completing any requirements, please visit those sections on our website for lots of ideas and resources.

Q: Is the office closed for the holidays?

Yes. The ABPMR office will be closed from December 24 through January 1. We’ll be back in the office on January 2.

Q: What if I need to submit CME or a PIP during that time?

You still can! Complete your requirements and self-report CME, pay annual fees online, or submit a PIP through the submission platform. You can even complete activities through specialty societies and that data will be sent to us when we get back.

Q: My certificate is set to expire on Dec. 31, 2019. What will happen to my certification status if I’m submitting my final items while the office is closed?

Don’t worry! We won’t be changing any certification statuses right away. This gives us time to check all of your submissions, as well as allowing specialty societies time to transmit your data to us. If there are any issues with what you’ve submitted, we’ll be in touch shortly after the new year – but again, your certification status won’t change until we’ve had a chance to account for everything.

Q: I recently completed my activities on another organization’s website, but I don’t see the activities yet on my MOC Homepage. Should I log these myself?

The organizations below share data with the ABPMR which will be logged when we return to the office. You do NOT need to self-report any activities completed through:

  • AAPM&R
  • AANEM
  • AAP
  • FluoroSafety

For CME credits granted by any other organization, please self-report these CME credits via your ABPMR account.

Q: What if I mail you my annual fee by check and it can’t be delivered while the office is closed?

When the mail is delivered on January 2, all payments will be entered into the system. No certification statuses will change while we are accounting for all the submissions and payments received during the office closure.

Q: Can I still enroll in LA-PM&R, even if the office is closed?

Yes! You can enroll online now through January 15, 2020 to be in the “on time” group. Read this News Center article for instructions on how to enroll in LA-PM&R.

Q: What if I have trouble logging into my account?

Try resetting your password using the link available on the sign in page; if you continue to have trouble, resetting your password from your home network (rather than your institution’s) sometimes helps.

Q: What if I still have questions?

You may leave us a voicemail or email during the holiday closure. We will get back to you as soon as possible after we return.
