ABPMR Annual Fee Policy Update

The ABPMR recently updated its Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Continuous Participation policy (ABPMR Policy 6.001) to better reflect the intention of an ongoing certification process.

The policy now states that any diplomate who does not pay their ABPMR annual fee in full by the end of the year will have a publicly-reported MOC participation status change to Certified, Not Meeting MOC Requirements in January of the following year.

Why the change in policy? Annual fees help to pay for innovations and enhancements to the MOC Program (like LA-PM&R), IT infrastructure to support tracking your requirements, and day-to-day office operations, to name a few things. Timely payment of annual fees ensures the ABPMR will be able to continue providing these important services to diplomates. For more details, please read our latest finance update, ABPMR Financial Guiding Principles.

Starting now, non-payment of annual fees past the deadline of Dec. 31 in a non-expiration year will not affect your board certification status, but will affect your MOC participation status as outlined above.

If you have questions about your annual fee balance or other MOC requirements, please contact our MOC experts at the ABPMR office.
